The city of Olot is the main population centre of the La Garrotxa Natural Volcanic Park, which also includes several medieval villages. In Olot and its surroundings, volcanoes are present in many aspects of the society, as its cultural heritage, local history, architecture, and even in the excellent traditional and modern cuisine. Olot is a relatively small city (34.000 inhabitants) with a great diversity of accommodation and transport facilities and visitors can find many enjoyable places to visit within a walking distance.
How to get there
The Girona and Barcelona airports are connected to the main European airports by regular daily flights. Regular bus services connect these cities with Olot. A shuttle bus service directly connecting these airports to Olot will be arranged by the LOC at certain hours of the days before and after the meeting.
Olot and its surroundings offer a great diversity of accommodation facilities including first class and standard hotels as well as more economic but comfortable guesthouses and apartments. A complete network of hostels, farmhouses, rural apartments and camp sites are also available at a reasonable price.

Passport / Visa
In general, most visitors will not require European Union Visas in order to enter in Spain, but citizens of some countries need one. Please consult the Spanish Embassy or Consulate General in your area for information about Visas.
If a participant needs and invitation letter with the signature of the chairmen, one will be provided after completion of the registration for the conference. This invitation letter is intended to assist participants in travel and visa arrangements and does not imply financial support.
The registration fee does not include insurance for the participants regarding accidents, sickness or loss of personal property. It is advisable that participants make their own arrangements in respect of health and travel insurance before leaving their countries.
